Alloys are special mixes of metals. Scientists mix different metals to make them better. Steel is a famous alloy. It is a mix of iron and carbon. Iron is useful, but it is not strong enough for big buildings. When we add carbon, it becomes very strong. Another alloy is stainless steel. It has a metal called chromium in it.
